Nice to meet you..
Hi, I am Stuart Sanders, an expat from the UK now living in Switzerland.
After stepping away from photography for more than 25 years, I never imagined the passion would return. But everything changed when I moved into the Swiss countryside. Surrounded by quiet meadows, and the enchanting woodland just behind my house, I was drawn back behind the lens. The forest is alive with character and mystery—home to foxes stealthily weaving through the trees, badgers and martens moving quietly at dusk, roe deer grazing in the early morning light, and countless other creatures that reveal themselves with the turning of the seasons.
Over time, I have made it my mission to document and celebrate the constant transformations of this woodland world. From the first buds of spring to the deep greens of summer, the fiery palette of autumn, and the serene stillness of winter, each season tells its own story. Through photography, I have reconnected not only with nature but also with a sense of wonder I thought I had left behind decades ago.
This journey is more than a return to an old hobby—it has become a way of life, a chance to embrace and protect the beauty that lies just beyond my doorstep. I invite you to walk with me through these woods, to pause and appreciate the animals that share this space with us, and to join in the effort to maintain and safeguard their fragile habitat.
Take a look at the links below, where you’ll find some of my favorite projects. I hope these images inspire you to see the wild world around you with fresh eyes, just as I have rediscovered it myself.
